5' 2021 Carol collaborated with choreographer Ruth Brill, creating dance film 'chrysalis' with principal of Birmingham Royal Ballet Brandon Lawrence, rising star Jakob Bryan, conductor Hannah Schneider, orchestra Oxford Alternative Orchestra and production company Four Eyes Production to explore exploring themes of transformation and hope in a place of darkness. |
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew: 'Tree Listening' Installation
Sound Installation
2021 A collaboration with The Tree Listening Project, 'Tree Listening' was part of the Secret World of Plants festival at Kew Gardens during 2021. The installation used suspended sound domes along the Syon Vista and allowed the listener to the inner workings as water moves up through the trees, giving visitors a unique insight into the movements of a tree throughout the day. |
Jack Philp Dance Company: LUMEN

17' 2017 Working with Jack Philp Dance Company, 'LUMEN' was inspired by light in our universe and using a star as a our starting point, explored factors which give birth to light as well as the different astrophysical environments which it encounters along its journey through space. From a range of research publications and images provided by The School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University, we sought to abstract and capture these ideas through movement and sound. Lumen featured as a part of the TEST | CAPTURE Tour in 2018 and 2019. |

satb 1' Commissioned as part of 'Twelve Composers Composing' along with eleven of the UK’s most exciting young composers, 'eight maids a-milking' is a miniature works for a choir of twelve voices, based on the text of the well-known song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”. It was premiered digitally January 5 2021 and will be premiered live December 11 2021. |

Carol received a bursary to attend the Young Composers Meeting 2021 with orkest de ereprijs. Over the course, she worked with composers Tansy Davies, Richard Ayres and Martijn Padding and developed and workshopped a new piece for mixed ensemble, which was performed during the Festival’s concert series. |
ROH JPYA Online Women's Empowerment Course
2020
Carol was selected among 20 composers, librettists and directors world-wide to take part in the Jette Parker Young Artists' Online Women’s Empowerment Course led by Katie Mitchell, in December 2020. The week-long course examined the contexts in which creatives work and how to hone strategies to forge a successful career. |
Vale of Glamorgan Festival Peter Reynolds Composer Studio
2018
Carol received a bursary to attend the Vale of Glamorgan Festival, taught by Robert Fokkens. Over the course, she developed and workshopped new pieces for string quartet and for marimba, the former which was performed during the Festival’s concert series. She also received tuition from composers Mark David Boden, Lynne Plowman and John Metcalf. |
St Magnus International Music Festival Composer Course

Carol received a bursary to attend the St. Magnus Composers’ Course in Orkney, taught by Alasdair Nicolson and Sally Beamish. Over the course, she developed and workshopped new pieces for string quartet and for chamber ensemble, the latter which was performed during the Festival’s concert series. |
Dartington International Summer School Advanced Composers Course

Carol received a bursary from The Hinrichsen Foundation to attend the Dartington International Summer School, taught by Judith Weir. Over the course, she developed and workshopped a new piece for string trio, which was performed during the Festival’s concert series and later broadcast on BBC Radio 3. |
BBC National Orchestra of Wales: Composition Wales
2016
‘Songs from the Stars: Movement I’ was chosen by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to be workshopped as part of their Welsh Composers’ Showcase in 2016, conducted by Jac van Steen, and mentored by B Tommy Andresson. The piece was chosen to be premiered by the BBC NOW in the concluding concert of the project. |
